Nominations open for Bunbury’s Citizen of the Year Awards

Bunbury residents are being asked to put forward the people in the community who are always doing their best to help others.

Nominations for the annual City of Bunbury Citizen of the Year Awards are now open, providing a way to recognise the outstanding contribution, leadership or initiative from community members.

The City is calling for nominations across awards’ three categories — the Citizen of the Year Award, Young Citizen of the Year Award and the Community Group or Community Event of the Year Award.

“If you know a local citizen or community group or event that has shown outstanding contribution to the local community, is a great role model and has inspiring qualities, has demonstrated leadership on a community project or has brought about a significant initiative which has enriched the community, then we want to hear from you,” a City spokesperson said.

The three awards will be presented at the morning citizenship ceremony on January 26 at the Graham Bricknell Memorial Music Shell.

All nominees will be notified that they have been nominated by letter prior to the ceremony.
