Olympians lend a hand in the pool

Bunbury Herald

More than 150 budding water polo players and swimmers took over the South West Sports Centre and Busselton Geographe Leisure Centre to take part in the first regional clinic of the BHP Billiton Aquatic Super Series on September 22.

Olympic waterpolo gold medallist Danielle Woodhouse and swimmer Travis Nederpelt were on hand to help out the up-and-coming stars.

The clinics offer children between the ages of 6 and 13 the opportunity to learn from icons of the pool.

They also promote the message that living an active and healthy lifestyle can be achieved through the participation in sport.

The clinic helped to kick off a big month in the pool for the Bunbury Water Polo Association, whose new season begins on October 16 with registrations from 6pm at the South West Sports Centre.
