Rugby: Scoring blitz too late for Warriors

Bunbury Herald

The McDonalds South West Warriors have lost their second game of the WA Rugby League premier grade season, suffering a slender 26-22 defeat at the hands of the Fremantle Roosters on Saturday.

In a game of two halves at Ken Allen Field, the Warriors trailed 18-0 at the break before returning a different side to push their hosts all the way and dominate the second stanza.

The fast-finishing Warriors scored 22 points to eight after half time.

South West fly-half Brett Robinson blamed early handling errors for the disastrous first half performance.

‘‘But in the second half we showed what we can do,’’ he said.

‘‘It’s frustrating because all the boys know what we can do with the ball in our hands.

‘‘But we do have lapses sometimes where we just lack concentration.’’
