Sawn-off rifle allegedly used in robberies

Two men accused of armed robberies in Bunbury and Eaton on Saturday allegedly took a total of $800 using a sawn-off rifle.

The men, aged 43 and 42, appeared in the Bunbury Magistrate's Court this afternoon both charged with two counts of aggravated armed robbery and one count of attempted aggravated armed robbery.

The charges were read to the men by Magistrate Dianne Scaddan but no pleas were entered.

It was said in court that one of the men allegedly used a sawn-off rifle in the robberies.

One of the men allegedly stole $50 from an elderly woman in Carey Park.

Then later the same man allegedly held-Up an Eaton liquor store and took $750.

They were both remanded in custody and will appear in the Stirling Gardens Magistrates Court on Wednesday.
