Son charged over Donnybrook stabbing

A South West man who allegedly stabbed his father in the chest during an altercation on Friday is to undergo a psychiatric assessment.

His defence made the request of Bunbury Magistrates Court this morning saying 27-year-old Rueben George Di Lollo suffered mental health issues.

Police allege Mr Di Lollo stabbed his father in the chest at about 5pm on Friday at property in Brookhampton near Donnybrook.

The victim was taken to the Donnybrook Hospital by his wife and has been transferred to the Bunbury Hospital in a serious condition.

The 27-year old has been remanded in custody and will reappear in court on January 11.
