Stallion extends impressive run

RILEY STUARTBunbury Herald

The Simon Foster-trained stallion Fa’Em extended its winning run to three after a commanding triumph at the Bunbury Turf Club on Friday.

The four-year-old was an impressive six-and-a-half lengths victor of the Harvey Norman Bunbury Handicap (1705m).

The $2 favourite, was aided by the 3kg claim of apprentice Kevin Bohorun, who was in the saddle.

Fa’Em has an impressive record under Foster, who moved from Queensland to train in Bunbury earlier this year, including three wins and two places from five starts this preparation.

Foster said the galloper was not far away from a metro start.

“He’s starting to get a little bit of confidence in himself more than anything else,” he said.

“He hasn’t really run a bad race since I’ve had him in work.”

Other winners on the day were Princess Caraboo, the Malcolm Byass-trained Brocco Debanko, Moreish, Cobble Lane, Secret Times, Laura’s Sky and Surfcat, prepared by Mark Bairstow.
