The South Bunbury Tigers wrapped up their home and away South West Football League season and the minor premiership by beating the lowly AMR at Hands Oval on Saturday night.

The Hawks travelled north to take on the Tigers on a brisk evening with nothing to play for but pride and endured a 24.16 (160) to 5.5 (35) walloping.

The Busselton Magpies added weight to their finals tilt when they pulled off a remarkable comeback victory over Carey Park, defeating the away side 11.9 (75) to 10.7 (67) at Sir Stewart Bovell Park on Saturday night.

Busselton and Carey Park produced an exciting prequel by demonstrating undue levels of tenacity and resilience in readiness for next week’s elimination final that will see them clash against each other once more.

An accurate Eaton Boomers took confidence into next weekend’s final against Bunbury, downing the Bulldogs by 15 points at Payne Park on Sunday afternoon.

In wet conditions and on a rough playing surface, neither side was able to gain control throughout the match until the Boomers held Bunbury goalless in the last quarter to win 6.5 (41) to 2.14 (26).

After some early season optimism Donnybrook’s season ended with a dismal performance at home when they went down by 51 points to a more experienced Harvey-Brunswick-Leschenault.

Having kicked just three goals in the last two weeks, the Dons should have much better in the opening term with the breeze, but woeful disposal saw them add just the 1.5 while the Lions could manage just a minor score.

Collie farewelled outgoing coach Brett Earl in the best possible fashion, embarrassing Harvey Bulls 17.15 (117) to 5.5 (35) at Harvey Recreation Ground.

The 82-point margin would have been even greater had the hosts not kicked four of the last five goals in Sunday’s one-sided game.
