South Bunbury notched up win number seven for the season with a strong second half, defeating the fifth-placed Donnybrook by nine points at VC Mitchell Park.

The win could potentially dump the Dons out of the final as their fourth week without premierships points leaves them level on 40 points with the Harvey Bulls, but with a little bit over five percentage points advantage and a game to go.

The Dons started brightly with two goals to Jeff Smith and Jason Orr in the opening term to have a 4.2 to 2.3 lead.

The Tigers had the first major of the second quarter before Kris Clarkson, having one of his better games for the season, marked strongly and goaled.

Hayden King landed a long bomb to put the Dons up by 21 points but for the most part it was an even tussle around the ground.

Guy Piggott kicked truly from a free but Clarkson set up Smith for a third to retain the lead.

Vital goals to James Kirby and Matt Wilkinson gave the Tigers momentum with Wilkinson’s goal after the siren a morale booster for the Tigers.

The Dons blew their chances in the third when they missed four gettable goals while swingman Wilkinson managed the only goal for the Tigers.

The Dons led 7.11 to 7.7 at the final change, but the Tigers were winning most of the contests and finding players in space.

By now Brady London was destroying all the high balls coming into Smith and his team mates were able to rebound strongly from half back.

Jason Brennan missed the chance to kick the first of the final quarter and the Tigers made them pay as they ran the ball to the other end where James Kirby put the Tigers in front.

Another to Piggott and the Tigers had all the momentum and run and when Wilkinson booted his third it was a 15 point lead and approaching time on.

The Dons were not quite done as Clarkson goaled and then a controversial infringement paid against Tigers runner saw Smith advanced 50m and the resulting goal had the Dons in with a chance.

The Tigers lifted and ran the ball forward where Piggott marked near the point post, ran around and kicked the sealer.
