Collie launched a second half fight back to defeat the Harvey Bulls 10.13 (73) to 9.7 (61) in Round 1 of South West Football League action on Sunday.

The Eagles trailed by 25 points at the long break after a disastrous first half in which they kicked only one goal.

Midfielder Rory Cowan turned in a best-on-ground showing to kick two goals and gather plenty of the ball.

New Bulls’ signing Michael McMillan kicked 4.3 and one out of bounds on the full in his side’s 10.13 (73) to 9.7 (61) loss.

At Payne Park, new addition Leigh Kelly booted eight goals to help Busselton to a 17.17 (117) to 14.10 (94) victory over Bunbury.

At VC Mitchell Park, Harvey-Brunswick-Leschenault kicked six unanswered goals in the first term to set up a 56-point victory over Donnybrook.

While the Dons did lift to outscore the Lions in the second and third quarters, it was not enough.

New full-forward Ashley Chapman booted 10 goals for Harvey-Brunswick-Leschenault.

On Saturday night, reigning premiers Augusta-Margaret River suffered a 25-point defeat to Eaton at Gloucester Park.

The final scores were 10.7 (67) to 6.6 (42).

Meanwhile, Carey Park defeated South Bunbury 12.16 (88) to 9.9 (63) under lights at Hands Oval.
