In far from ideal conditions Busselton were too strong for Harvey-Brunswick-Leschenault at Brunswick Oval on Saturday night taking the premiership points by a thirty seven point margin.

The Lions should have had the opening goal with only 20 seconds on the clock when Keegan Fortescue missed from 30m in front of goals and ironically that turned out to be their only score for the quarter.

Augusta-Margaret River breathed new life into the race for the finals as they stormed to a runaway 83 point victory over Carey Park, upsetting the pundits and giving themselves a realistic opportunity for the double chance in the finals in the process.

The Hawks kicked with the aid of a light breeze and had three goals on the board before the Panthers had scored at Gloucester Park, beginning an emphatic 19.13 (127) to 6.8 (44) victory.

Just one point could separate two up and coming sides at Payne Park, with two teams competing in a fighting fourth quarter which saw the Harvey Bulls beat the young Bunbury Bulldogs 9.9 (63) to 9.8 (62).

Rarely more than a kick separated the two sides as they fought tooth and nail – the Bulldogs to lift off the bottom of the points table and the Bulls striving to break into the business end of the season.

The Collie Eagles got home in a thriller against South Bunbury at the Collie Recreation Ground on Sunday, with the home side defeating the Tigers by just one point.

The Eagles trailed at the final break by two goals and were kicking against the wind in the last quarter, but the young side rallied to overcome the visitors 10.8 (68) to 10.7 (67).

Amidst a week of mourning the death of club legend Chris Sheehan, a defiant Donnybrook outfit fell just 26-points short of toppling league leaders Eaton Boomers at VC Mitchell Park on Sunday.

In an emotional encounter the Dons could not hold-off the strong finishing Boomers who overrun the home side 9.14 (68) to 6.6 (42).
