The (Bunbury) Show will go on

EMILY BAKERBunbury Herald

A new and improved Bunbury Show will go ahead next year.

The annual show was on the brink of being cancelled due to a lack of volunteers but event coordinator Betty Lammie said she was happy that many individuals and organisations had offered to help at the show’s annual meeting last week.

“We had an amazing turnout and the show will go on,” she said.

“We plan on developing all parts of the show as best we can.

“We want the markets, animals and events to be bigger and better than ever.”

Mrs Lammie said the new recruits would help revamp the show’s image.

“We’re going to keep developing and growing with things that represent the area,” she said.

“Next year’s show falls on Youth Week and we might incorporate the event with the show and have a concert specifically for youth.”

The show will be held next April at Hay Park.
