1. Viva Bunbury
Held on Victoria Street tomorrow as a part of the South West Autumn Racing Carnival, is the Viva Bunbury Street Fiesta. Enjoy live Latin music, Spanish flamenco and carnival queen dancers. There will also be a surprise street stunt show, fiesta feasts and markets full of Latin treasures.
2. Motown magic
Voted best of Las Vegas in 2005 and again in 2006, vocal group Spectrum boasts four incredible singers who combine their talents to create the angelic harmonies and deft choreography synonymous with Motown. Together with their sister group Radiance, they constitute the best Motown revue in America and are heading to the Bunbury Regional Entertainment Centre tomorrow at 8pm. 3. Bunbury Cup
Get to the Bunbury Turf Club on Thursday for the club’s biggest meet of the year; the XXXX Gold Bunbury Cup. With live entertainment, excellent food and soothing beverages combined with the best horse racing the year has to offer, it is a sure-fire hit for any racing fan. Gates open at 11am.
4. Bayside Beats
The Graham Bricknell Memorial Music Shell is set to be invaded by Australian rock legends and their fans this Friday night for Bayside Beats. Get ready as the Angels, Diesel and Mi-Sex perform a night of rock that is sure to have any Aussie rock fan on the edge of their seats. Screaming Jets front man Dave Gleeson will lead the Angels on stage for the headline performance of this fantastic music concert. Gates open at 5pm.
5. Outdoor movies
Sit back and enjoy this month’s Movie on the Ferguson at St Aiden Wines on Ferguson Road this Friday. With gates opening at 5.30pm and the movie commencing at sunset, it is a great night out with the screening of the popular movie Saving Mr Banks. Bring a picnic rug or low chair and order a picnic hamper to truly enjoy the outdoor experience.
6. Proms concert
Take a trip around the world in 80 minutes with Bunbury’s beloved South West Philharmonic and the Bunbury City Band. The Family Proms Concert is back on Saturday at 3pm at the Bunbury Regional Entertainment Centre to provide an afternoon of fun family entertainment not to be missed. Bring your party hats, blowers and noisemakers for a true Proms style musical celebration. 7. Free movie night
Bring a blanket, comfy chair or cushion to the Central Lakes Park, Dalyellup Boulevard (off Norton Promenade), Dalyellup on Saturday to see the animated movie Epic. 8. Festival in Harvey
In what will be a feast for the senses and have the atmosphere of Italy, this year’s Harvey Harvest Festival will be at Snell Park on Sunday. Starting at 9am, enjoy entertainment by Little Miss, Nerida Mangano and Tony Bandera and the WA Police Pipe Band. Also available will be cooking demonstrations, Geographe Region wines, rides, street theatre, acrobats, arts, face painting and the WA Grape Stomping Championship.
9. Puppeteers
From the West End of London to Broadway in New York, the Puppetry of the Penis boys have stretched themselves to the limit for more than a decade performing the hilarious ancient art of genital origami. Watch these two strapping men manipulate their genitals into various shapes, objects and landmarks live on stage at the Bunbury Regional Entertainment Centre on Friday night. 10. Catch a Movie
Head to Bunbury Grand Cinemas this week as Thursday sees the release of The Monuments Men. Based on the true story of the greatest treasure hunt in history, The Monuments Men focuses on an unlikely World War II platoon, tasked by FDR with going into Germany to rescue artistic masterpieces from Nazi thieves and returning them to their rightful owners. But as the Monuments Men, as they were called, found themselves in a race against time to avoid the destruction of 1000 years of culture, they would risk their lives to protect and defend mankind’s greatest achievements.
