Comedy comes to town in the form of the Outer Fringe Festival at the Bunbury Regional Entertainment Centre, and for the romantics amongst you, the South West Italian Club is holding its pre-Valentines Ball on Saturday.

'1. Comedy duo'

Don't miss your chance to see two of the biggest names in Australian comedy live on stage at the Bunbury Regional Entertainment Centre on Friday at 8pm. Peter Helliar (Rove) and Tom Gleeson (This Week Live) are joining forces to bring the laughs to Bunbury for what promises to be a great night out. '2. Pre-Valentines Ball'

On Saturday get to the South West Italian Club on White Street and dance the night away to 50s and 60s music at the Pre-Valentine Ball. The band Frankie and the Rockitz will have people on their feet all night and there will even be a special guest, Steve the Elvis Experience. Prizes will be handed out for the best dressed female and rock ‘n’ roller dressed man. Doors open at 7pm, there is a fully licensed bar, no BYO. '3. Sidewalk barbecue'

Mojos is hosting a Meat on the Street Barbecue this Sunday from 12pm till late. Food platters, Corona and Custard Cider deals are all available to make this a budget way of eating on a Sunday where you don’t have to lift a finger. Bookings are available for the popular chefs table watching French chef Co Co on the grill.

'4. Outer Fringe'

South West residents no longer have to travel to Perth to sample the Fringe World flavour with Outer Fringe heading to the Bunbury Regional Entertainment Centre on Saturday night. The program consists of three separate shows Big Boys Don’t Dance at 6.30pm, Fiona O’Loughlin at 8pm and East End Cabaret at 9.30pm. This Sunday at the Old Coast Road Brewery bring the family down to see Six Strings Down. The contemporary country and blues duo are a local and young talent which is sure to excite. '6. Off and racing'

Friday racing returns to the Bunbury Turf Club for the first time in 2014 this week in what is sure to be a great day of horse racing. Get to BTC for all the glitz and glamour, socialising and fun which comes with the races. With not many races to go before the Bunbury Cup Day, be sure to get this event and warm up for a big season.

'7. Catch a movie'

Mandela: Long Walk To Freedom is the thrilling story of an ordinary man who rose to the challenge of his times and triumphed. The epic motion picture spans Mandela’s extraordinary life journey from his childhood in a rural village through to his inauguration as the first democratically elected President of South Africa. Mandela: Long Walk To Freedom opens at Grand Cinemas Bunbury on Thursday.

'8. Ash Grunwald'

Melbourne blues musician Ash Grunwald will be appearing at the Prince of Wales Hotel this Thursday to perform all his hits. Grunwald has built a strong reputation in Australia and internationally based on his live shows and festival performances. With two Australasian Performing Rights Association awards and five previous ARIA nominations under his belt Ash Grunwald is not to be missed.

'9.The Virtuous Peasant'

A kenetic sculptural installation by Perth-based artist Geoff Overheu who asks the question: “What is it to be a farmer in the 21st century?” Exhibited at Bunbury Regional Art Galleries, The Virtuous Peasant, is made of 12 sculptures which portray a romanticised image of a farmer. It is a sight to be seen with amazing potency so get to BRAG before the exhibition finishes at the end of the month.

'10. Races for Roses'

Bunbury Trotting Club is holding a special event on Saturday with the Races for Roses and Waitangi Day. Celebrate the New Zealand public holiday with a day big day of racing. For more information contact 9721 2768.
