1. Jack Charles

Uncle Jack Charles is an Australian legend: veteran actor, musician, Koori elder and activist, but his journey has not been an easy one – he earlier spent time homeless, battling drug addiction and in prison. His autobiographical show Jack Charles V The Crown has received wide acclaim in Sydney, Melbourne and Perth and now heads to the Bunbury Regional Entertainment Centre, accompanied by a three-piece band, on Saturday at 8pm. 2. Sunday Cinema

International Sunday Cinema returns to BREC on Sunday with the charming British comedy/ drama Song for Marion. Shy, grumpy pensioner Arthur is reluctantly inspired by his beloved wife Marion to join a highly unconventional local choir. At odds with his son, James, it is left to charismatic choir director Elizabeth to try to persuade Arthur that he can learn to embrace life. Song for Marion screens at 3pm and 6pm this Sunday, tickets are available at the door.

3. World of song

The Bunbury Bel Canto Singers invite everyone to join them on an around-the-world concert on Sunday at St Augustine’s Church on Mangles Street from 2pm. The entry fee is $15 for adult and $10 for concessions. Afternoon tea will be provided and all proceeds will go to Bunbury Regional YouthCare. For more information, call 9726 1087.

4. Poetry night

5. Eskimo Joe

Acclaimed alternative rockers Eskimo Joe return to Bunbury and the Prince of Wales Hotel this week to preview songs from their yet-to-be-released sixth studio album. Front man Kavyen Temperley said he enjoyed coming back to Bunbury, citing “legendary” shows held at the Prince in the past. Eskimo Joe will play at the Prince of Wales Hotel on Thursday night.

6. Deez Nuts

An 18+ show of Deez Nuts will be held at the Prince of Wales Hotel on Friday. In March, Deez Nuts’ third album Bout It debuted at No. 35 on the ARIA album charts and boasted a slew of guests including Sam Carter, Freddie Madball, Lord Ezec, Jonathon Blake, Sean Murphy and more.

7. Weekend football

There is going to be some great football in the region this weekend, with South Bunbury going up against Donnybrook at Hands Oval and Eaton Boomers against Carey Park at Glen Huon Reserve on Sunday. 8. Good for a laugh

In an effort to recapture their youth, a group of friends try to recreate a drinking marathon from their 20s at the urging of Gary King (Simon Pegg), a man who tries to extend his youth forever. In The World’s End, the group tries to reach The World’s End, a fabled pub in their hometown, but that becomes the least of their worries when humanity is put in danger. During a vacation to a beach town, lonely teenage boy Duncan (Liam James) comes into his own through an unlikely friendship with the manager of a local water park (Sam Rockwell). In The Way, Way Back, Duncan’s mother Pam (Toni Collette) alienates her young son through her determined efforts to make her relationship work with her carousing boyfriend (Steve Carell), whose attempts to build a family are immediately transparent to Duncan.
