1. Eisteddfod

The 55th WA Performing Arts Eisteddfod incorporating the City of Bunbury Eisteddfod gets underway today with the piano performances and promises to be a musical and theatrical extravaganza. During the next three and a half weeks, residents will have the opportunity to witness the best instrumental, vocal, dance and drama talent the State has to offer, all from comfy seats at the Bunbury Regional Entertainment Centre. 2. Moon

World renowned a cappella vocal group The Australian Voices will bring its new show Moon to Bunbury Regional Entertainment Centre on Thursday at 8pm. Moon is a completely new experience for audiences — a sublime theatre and choral experience showcasing the exquisite a cappella sounds of The Australian Voices. 3. Free concert

Libby Hammer, one of Perth’s premier jazz vocalists, will be joined by local school groups and performers to provide the community an evening of free quality entertainment at Bunbury Regional Entertainment Centre on Saturday at 8pm. The free concert is presented as part of the WA Performing Arts Eisteddfod, on now at BREC until June 27.

4. Quiz night

The Capel Golf Club on Bussell Highway, Stratham, will hold a quiz night on Friday at 7pm. Tables of six are available for $9 per person. BYO food but cheese and biscuits will be on sale at the club and drinks will be available for purchase. Contact Bill at the Capel Gold Club on 9795 7033 to book.

5. Drama Festival

The annual South West Youth Drama Festival will showcase the youth of the region on the stage as a series of one act plays at Australind Senior High School. The three groups performing on Saturday are Harvey Primary School, Australind Senior High School and Black Box Theatre Group on Saturday. The schools will start performing between 1pm and 2.15pm. 6. Exhibition

The works of eight artists will be on display in an exhibition called Star. The artists are Olga Cironis, Michael Doherty, Moira de la Hunty, Andre Lipscombe, Tony Nathan, Ron Nyisztor, Trever Richards and Greg Woodward. Each artist is a point on an octogram representing a star. In the exhibition, each artist contemplates a personal creative direction and practice but are linked within a single framework of time and/or place. Star opens at the Bunbury Regional Art Galleries’ 4th Gallery on Friday until July 7.

7. Roller Derby

Match your love of Rocky Horror with your love of Roller Derby by getting down to the Blocky Horror night at the Eaton Recreation Centre on Saturday. Dress up in your best Blocky Horror costume to win a prize. The bout between the Zombetties and the Rockabullies starts at 6.30pm and doors open at 6pm. Adults $10 entry and children 5-12 are $5.

8. Single launch

Rock up at the Old Coast Road Brewery on Sunday to listen to Codee-Lee Down as she launches her new single Roll On Into Town. Codee-Lee featured in season one of The Voice, the Boyup Brook Junior Artist in 2010 and 2011 and the Boyup Brook Junior Songwriter from 2010-12 and was a heat winner in the Telstra Road to Tamworth in 2010. Entry is free and the country music show will be from 1pm to 4pm.

9. Gatsby fundraiser

There will be a 1920s-themed night at the Grand Cinemas on Monday to raise money for the Milligan Community and Learning Resource Centre. Tickets are $25 and include wine tasting, nibbles and prizes. People who attend also have the option to dress up in 1920s garb which would make the characters of The Great Gatsby proud. The event starts at 6.30pm, with tickets available at the Milligan Centre on 9721 8944. \

10. Speed Freaks

Petrol heads should enjoy The Fast and the Furious 6 as Dom (Vin Diesel) and Brian (Paul Walker) pick up where the previous movie left off. After earning their share in the $100 million which toppled a kingpin’s empire, their life has become stale. Hobbs (Dwayne Johnson) has been chasing skilled mercenary drivers and he needs help.
