1 Bollywood

The South West Indian Group will hold a night of Bollywood movie classics to be held at the Vineyard Auditorium, 32 Clifton Street, Bunbury, from 3pm to 7pm on June 23. The group will also provide a selection of specialty Indian food and drinks with Indian chai, samosas, masala vadas among the delicacies on offer. 2 Musical treat

Bunbury Musical Comedy group presents I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change! The show is billed as a battle of the sexes all in a musical for three shows only on June 22, 23 and 24 at the New Lyric Theatre. Originally produced in New York the production is the second longest running broadway show with more than 5000 performances at the Westside Theatre. 3 Eisteddfod

This week is dance week at the 54th WA Performing Arts Eisteddfod, being held at the Bunbury Regional Entertainment Centre. Enjoy solo and group performances from dancers of all ages until Saturday, followed by vocal performances from Sunday. Tickets are $10 per session for adults and $4 for children, with great savings available when purchasing a multisaver ticket. Tickets are also available for the Gala Concert to be held on June 30.

4 Brave in 3D

Brave is set in the mystical Scottish Highlands, where Merida is the princess of a kingdom ruled by King Fergus and Queen Elinor. An unruly daughter and an accomplished archer, Merida one day defies a sacred custom of the land and inadvertently brings turmoil to the kingdom. In an attempt to set things right, Merida seeks out an eccentric old Wise Woman and is granted an ill-fated wish. Also figuring into Meridas quest and serving as comic relief are the kingdoms three lords: the enormous Lord MacGuffin, the sur l y Lord Ma c intosh, and the disagreeable Lord Dingwall. 5 Evening out

Eaton Boomers presents an evening with the captain and coach with Kim Hughes and Ken Judge, the former Australian Test and WA State captain and West Coast Eagles and Hawthorn league coach and EFFC premiership coach. Held on Thursday, June 21 at 7pm in the Silks & Saddles Room, Bunbury Turf Club. Tickets are $100 with tables of 12. Includes sit-down meal and four hours of wine, beer and soft drinks. 6 Brewery

Head up the Ferguson Valley on Sunday, June 24 for a few quiet local beers and Cactus Jack performing live. One of the brewery’s favourite performers returns for a lazy Sunday afternoon. Check out the Irish Ale for a warm-up on what could be a chilly winter afternoon or wrap your chops around a Wild Bull Stout to really warm your soul. 7 SWFL

The high-flying Collie Eagles will attempt to knock off league leaders Eaton Boomers at Glen Huon Reserve on Sunday at 2.30pm while this week’s round is kicked off with HBL hosting South Bunbury in Brunswick on Saturday night. Busselton will host cellar dwellers Donnybrook on Sunday at 2.30pm while Augusta Margaret River host Bunbury at Gloucester Park. Carey Park and Harvey Bulls will be aiming to cement their positions in the top five when the Bulls travel to Kelly Park on Sunday afternoon.

8 Jazz night

Australind Senior High School will host a jazz night with jazz and blues guitar legend Freddie Grigson and quartet on Friday, June 22. Grigson has recorded and played with artists including Sammy Davis jun., Joe Pass, Herb Ellis, Mike Stern and Shirley Bassey. Australind and Aranmore big bands will support Grigson in true club style. Tickets are available from Australind Senior High School and are $20 per person with sumptuous food, and non-alcoholic drinks available and BYO in moderation.

9 Live music

Check out Melbourne’s Dallas Frasca live at the Prince on June 23. The Victorian songstress and her band are touring their sophomore album, Sound Painter. The folkroots trio album is jam-packed with big guitar riffs, pounding drums and soulful vocals and has been hailed as the modern day Janis Joplin by youth radio station triple j. 10 Choir night

Spend a night with the University of WA’s talented Winthrop Singers at Bunbury Cathedral Grammar School on Tuesday, June 26. The workshop is open to all ages and experience levels and provides an opportunity to develop your singing potential while having fun with visiting members of the UWA Winthrop Singers. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for students and kicks off from 7pm. The singers will also perform a free concert at St Patrick’s Cathedral on Thursday, June 28.
