1. Women celebrate

Today is the end of year celebration for the South West Women’s Health in Bunbury. The public is welcomed to go along, enjoy the free event and meet women from the community from 11.30am to 3pm at 19 Fielder Street, Bunbury. People are encouraged to bring a plate to share. 2. Carmen live

A production of David Williamson’s Managing Carmen will be beamed live from the Health Ledger Theatre in Perth to the New Lyric Theatre in Bunbury. While it’s a free event, it is essential to book your ticket for the show. The play tells the story of Brent Lyall, a young sporting talent with a bright future but a big secret. When his manager Rohan Swift hires psychologist Jessica to find out what that secret is, he soon wishes he hadn’t. Managing Carmen begins at 7.30pm on Friday. 3. Quiz night

Even brains need exercise – and what better way to do that than by taking part in a quiz night. The Bunbury Forum Force will hold a quiz night on Saturday from 6.30pm at the Soccerdrome on Parade Road. Teams of up to 10 are allowed. Contact Oliver on 0451 026 769 with a team name. The cost is $10 per person. Registration is due before 5pm tomorrow.

4. Theatre workshop

Find your inner animal by creating a character based on observing fauna behaviour at a two-day theatre workshop for adults. The workshop will be held on Saturday and Sunday from 10am to 3pm. The first day will be held at the zoo and the second day will be at the Stage light Studio Lyric Theatre. The cost is $55, contact Sharon Kennedy on 0406 282 104 for more information.

5. On parade

Take a step back in time and enjoy music from the 1940s and comedy skits from Dad’s Army and Allo Allo at the Australind Senior Citizens On Parade. Presented by Sassy Variety and held at the Australind Senior Citizens on 8 Mardo Avenue starting this Saturday, it promises to be an event to remember. There will be a dinner with BYO alcohol on Saturday from 5pm at $18 a ticket and an afternoon tea on Sunday and Tuesday from 2pm at $15 a ticket. Contact 9725 8998 for bookings.

6. Carnival fun

Fun for the whole family, the City of Bunbury Christmas Carnival at Bicentennial Square and Graham Bricknell Music Shell on Blair Street will be held on Sunday from 3pm to 8.30pm. 7. Choral concert

The South West Opera’s annual Choral Concert will be held on Sunday from 2.30pm in St Boniface Cathedral. The South West Opera senior and junior singers will join forces with the South West Philharmonic Orchestra for this musical feast. Tickets at the door.

8. Charity movie

A special screening of the new James Bond movie Skyfall at Grand Cinemas next Monday will help Kenyan children. The event, a fundraising venture for the Tenderfeet Education Centre in Kenya, begins with drinks at 6pm and the film starts at 6.30pm. Tickets cost $25. 9. Aerial shoot

Joion Enable Southwest next Monday to celebrate the International Day of People with Disability. To mark the day, Enable has organised an aerial photo shoot at the Bunbury Recreation Ground. People are encouraged to come along wearing a white t-shirt to then stand in order to spell out an inspirational word. Register your interest on Enable Southwest’s Facebook page.

10. Fun size

A comedy with a horror-movie twist, Fun Size opens at Grand Cinemas on Thursday. The film is about a teenage girl whose younger brother goes missing. Wren (Victoria Justice) must look after her brother on Halloween, but her young sibling slips into the trickor- treating crowd. Wren has to find her brother before mum gets home.
