So many things to do this week in Bunbury!

1. Out of the Box

The Cube theatre and Sky Bar at Bunbury Regional Entertainment Centre are gearing up for the final Out of the Box + Into the Cube for 2014 on Friday night. It will be a huge night of WA live music in The Cube with sets by electric surf indie-rockers Stillwater Giants and Perth indie-folk-pop duo Riley Pearce. There will also be a DJ, pizza for purchase, jam-jar cocktails, arcade games, ping pong and much more. Bunbury City Library will present Ian Andrew’s alternative history thriller A Time to Every Purpose on Thursday at 6.30pm. This will be a chance to meet the author, listen to the journey of an Amazon published writer and find out what makes an ex-British Air Force intelligence officer write fiction novels in the South West. 3. Food, Wine Fest

On Saturday, the Donnybrook Amphitheatre will be the venue for the Donnybrook Food and Wine Fest. Running from 11am to 5.30pm, this family-friendly event offers free activities for children, live entertainment throughout the day and many specialty stalls. West Coast Eagles champion Andrew Embley will also be on hand as the 2014 Celebrity Chef. Entry is free.

4. Live music

The Prince of Wales Hotel has a stellar line-up this week with Busby Marou on Friday and British India on Saturday. British India is an Australian indie rock and garage rock band that have supported the likes of Fallout Boy, whereas Busby Marou is a Queensland duo characterised by melodic guitar riffs and meaningful lyrics. 5. String Quartet

The Australian Youth Orchestra’s prestigious String Quartet is bound for Bunbury and will perform at Saint Augustine’s Uniting Church on Saturday. The show will feature the works of Edwards, Debussy and Beethoven. The performance starts at 7.30pm and tickets are available at the door.

6. FREE4YOUth

The November instalment of BREC’s FREE4Youth with Bendigo Bank will feature a performance by Rock ‘n’ Roll High band Copyright. Held for high-school students, FREE4Youth starts straight after school on Thursday and promises 90 minutes of free live entertainment, food, drinks, giveaways and other activities. Enter through the new box office and go upstairs to The Cube.

7. Expo

With displays, demonstrations, food and fun for all the family, the Bunbury 4WD, Boating & Camping Expo offers a fantastic weekend of interest and entertainment, providing a first class opportunity to see and compare national brands first hand, at a discount for expo visitors. Held at Payne Park, Bunbury, the event will run from 9am on Saturday and Sunday.

8. Catch a movie

Watch all the latest blockbuster films at Grand Cinemas Bunbury. One of the hits on the big screen at the moment is Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1. Jennifer Lawrence returns as Katniss Everdeen, the leader of a bloody uprising against the powers that be in the penultimate film of this signature dystopian franchise.

9. Joe Avati

Italian-Australian comedian Joe Avati will bring his bilingual brand of comedy to Bunbury at Barbados on Thursday. Avati’s clean, family-friendly comedy appeals to all ages and ethnicities and is not to be missed. 10. Art show

Robert Ewing’s exhibition at Bunbury Regional Art Galleries explores the landscape of the region through a series of imaginative and surreal paintings. One of the works was created by the artist over the first three weeks of the exhibition and now hangs completed on the wall. The exhibition is on show until Sunday.
