1. Sports stars

CATCH two international athletes on Friday at the South West Academy of Sport’s annual awards and dinner on Friday. Former Australian sprint swimmer Eamon Sullivan and Commonwealth Games triathlete Ryan Bailie will be guest speakers at the event which rewards the region’s up-and-coming athletes. The event will be at the Lighthouse Beach Resort and tickets are available by calling SWAS on 9792 4504.

2. Remembrance Day

BUNBURY RSL Sub-Branch will hold a Remembrance Day service at the Bunbury War Memorial. Fall-in is at 10.45am for an 11am service with a wreath-laying and recital of the Ode. Light refreshments will be served at the Bunbury RSL sub-branch hall afterwards.

3. Catch a Movie

WATCH all the latest blockbuster films at Grand Cinemas Bunbury. One of the hits on the big screen at the moment is John Wick. The movie follows a former hit man (Keanu Reeves) who comes out of retirement to seek vengeance on the gangsters who took everything from him.

4. Blues time

DID Blues at Bridgetown give you the blues? Get another hit of that soulful sound at Eliot Street Bar on Saturday when the South West Blues Club presents New South Wales bluegrass outfit Good Corn Liquor with support from South West-based act The Doublegees. Doors open at 7pm and tickets are $15 for members and $20 for non-members.

5. Collie Show

HEAD up to Collie on Saturday for a fun-filled family day with show staples including sideshow alley, log chopping, show jumping and a host of free live music and performances. There will be special appearance by My Kitchen Rules contestants Josh and Andi, renowned horticulturalist Sabrina Hahn, and Peppa and George Pig. LISTEN to the South West Opera Company’s latest production, Frozen in Time. Featuring a selection of musical treats throughout time, the concert is for all ages. 8. Sister Cities

BUNBURY hosts the 2014 Sister Cities Australia Conference from November 16 to 19. A range of international, national and local speakers, including Lonely Planet founder Tony Wheeler, will offer a dynamic conference with a welcome dinner, gala dinner and walking tour of Bunbury’s street art among the highlights. 9. Jammers Night

IF twitchy fingers are telling you it’s been too long since you’ve picked up an instrument, scratch that musical itch at the Prince of Wales Hotel’s Jammers Night tomorrow. Come down to support the locals or take the plunge yourself. PA system, sound engineer and house guitar are supplied and entry is free.

10. Anh Do

LAUGH to one of Australia’s favourite comedians on Friday night when Anh Do returns to Bunbury with his hit show, The Happiest Refugee Live. Held at Bunbury Regional Entertainment Centre, one of Australia’s most well-known comedians will go through his life’s joys and sorrows, while making you laugh.
