1. For a laugh

Arguably one of Australia's favourite American comedians, Arj Barker returns to Bunbury Regional Entertainment Centre on Thursday night with his new show Get In My Head.

A unique art event will give you the chance to enjoy a break and create some art for free. Art Break Day is held on the first Friday of September in cities around the world and Bunbury is taking part. Head along to Anzac Park, Paisley Square, or the corner of Victoria and Stephen streets from 9am-5pm to be involved in this event. Everyone is invited to sit down, take a break and get artistic as Bunbury gets involved for the first time.

3. Anzac fathers run

A run to commemorate the Anzac spirit will take place on Sunday. The Bankwest Gallipoli Run will begin at 9am and offers 4km and 8km courses that start and finish at Turkey Point in Bunbury. It is being held on Fathers' Day to honour all fathers who took part in World War I. Entries close at midnight Thursday. The first male and female in the 8km run category will receive an expenses-paid invitation to participate in the 2016 run in Perth.

4. Footy finals fever

Ten teams have become five and finals have arrived in the South West Football League. Two crunch games will be played at 2.30pm on Sunday, with Augusta-Margaret River to meet Harvey Bulls in an elimination final at Payne Park. In the qualifying final, Eaton Boomers and Carey Park will clash at Hands Oval for the right to play minor premiers Busselton the following week.

5. Girls mix it up

Country music star Beccy Cole and jazz diva Libby O'Donovan will join forces on stage in The Cowgirl and The Showgirl at Bunbury Regional Entertainment Centre on Saturday at 7.30pm. From the energetic humour and honesty of Cole to the diversity and astonishingly rich vocal range of O'Donovan, these two singer-songwriters are never afraid to tell it like it is. 6. Annual soccer quiz

Soccer club South West Phoenix will hold its annual quiz night at Bunbury Rowing Club on Saturday. Tables of eight will compete for prizes and the night begins at 7pm, with tickets $10 each. Earlier that day, the club will play its second-last home match of the season, against Morley-Windmills. Kickoff is at 3pm at Payne Park.

7. Bogan bingo night

Bunbury Catholic College will hold a fundraiser for its new Mercy campus with a bogan bingo night on Saturday. There will be prizes for the best-dressed bogan, an air guitar competition, silent auction and raffle. It will be held in the sports centre of the school's school Marist campus in Bunbury. Arrivals are at 7.30pm for an 8pm start. Tickets to the 18+ event are $25 and include some table snacks.

8. Antique fair weekend

An antiques, collectables and craft fair will be held in Boyanup from Friday to Sunday. It will be held at Hugh Kilpatrick Hall on South Western Highway. Appraisals can also be undertaken for a gold coin donation. It runs from 2pm-6pm on Friday, 9am-5pm on Saturday, and 9am-3pm on Sunday. For more details, contact Ann on 0429 866 030.

9. Country crooners

Country crooner Brian Letton will play a family concert at Sanctuary Golf Resort on Sunday. The South Australian will play the show as part of his national tour. He will be joined by award-winning and upcoming Western Australian musician Kate Hindle. Adult tickets are $25 and can be bought in advance through the resort or at the door. The show begins at 2.30pm.

10. NWA on big screen

The film that has spawned a series of online memes prior to its Australian release opens at Grand Cinemas Bunbury on Thursday. Straight Outta Compton tells the story of hip-hip group NWA's rise and fall. Co-produced by Ice Cube and Dr Dre, two members of the group, this MA-rated biographical drama is named after the group's debut album. It traces the group's journey from Compton, California, to the big time - and all the controversy associated with it.
