Climbing a Walpole mountain at sunrise Christine Bastow and her husband, Neil, stopped to savour the beautiful surrounds and snapped a photograph of the misty morning.

The picture impressed the Tourism Australia judges in the There’s nothing like Australia campaign who awarded Mrs Bastow a luxury holiday at Uluru.

‘‘The photo was taken at sunrise while climbing Mount Frankland near Walpole and is how I won an amazing holiday for six people to Longitude 131 Uluru,’’ she said.

‘‘We had the most amazing holiday and wish that every Australian could experience what we did.

‘‘Imagine sunset at Uluru, arriving at sunset and being handed a glass of champagne and canapes while watching the sun capture the beautiful colours of the ‘rock’ until darkness descends.’’

The global marketing campaign featured the holiday recommendations of people showing what is unique and iconic about Australia.

About 40,000 entries were received in the competition and 16 luxury getaways were given out as prizes.

MrsBastow said ahighlight of the trip was the Dinner Under the Stars.

‘‘We step into a magical world of pathways lit by citronella candles and a huge fire as tall as a person,’’ she said.

‘‘The sound of a didgeridoo is echoing though the night air as we walk towards the beautifully set table.

‘‘As our eyes adjust to the darkness we can see the figure at the end of the long table playing the instrument and the stars are blinking in the night sky.’’
