Warriors turn it on for home crowd
The McDonalds South West Warriors made themselves at home on Saturday with a comfortable 42-14 victory over reigning WA Rugby League premier grade champions North Beach.
Playing their first home game for 2011, a big crowd turned out to see the Warriors in action on the Bunbury Recreation Ground, who raced to a 10-nil lead early in the game before eventually heading for half time with their noses in front 14-10.
It was all one-way traffic in the second half as Eugene Taylor, 2010 best and fairest Brandon Timlin and captain Matt Goodes starred to ensure the home side’s perfect record after three matches stayed intact.
"We were really happy with the second half," coach Darren Shaw said.
"We pretty much dominated all over the place and came away with a good result in the end.
"There were definitely some patches there where the players showed they were really starting to get an understanding of how I want us to play."
The Warriors will clash with Rockingham Sharks, who are also undefeated, at Lark Hill this Saturday.
