What's on in Bunbury this week?

Bunbury Herald

There's heaps on in Bunbury this week. Here's some ideas of how to entertain yourself and your family.

La Traviata

La traviata is Verdi’s romantic masterpiece about the beautiful courtesan Violetta, whose life is full of champagne, silk dresses and extravagant parties.

When the music plays and the admirer pays, she must perform.

She finally succumbs to love with her young admirer Alfredo, but can they make a life together?

Will she be able to leave her past behind?

See La Traviata at the Bunbury Regional Entertainment Centre on Thursday at 7.30pm.

Restare Uniti (Stick together)

Support the local film industry by attending a fundraiser screening of Restare Uniti which is based on true events in rural WA in the 1940s.

In the face of fascism, 18-year-old Gianni made a promise and fled halfway across the world to what he thought was a safe Australia, but the war soon catches up with him.

The evening will consist of three short films, live music and a Q&A session with the cast and crew.

Pre-show drinks and nibbles will be available from 7pm at the Bunbury Regional Entertainment Centre tomorrow.

WASO Chorus

The Big Sing is a fun way to spend an afternoon singing with the WASO Chorus.

Come and raise the roof as part of one of the biggest choruses WA has ever heard.

Whether you’re 18 or 80, a trained singer or just someone keen to sing, come along and experience the joy of singing some popular choral works led by chorus director Marilyn Phillips.

The show starts at 1.30pm on Sunday at the Bunbury Regional Entertainment Centre.

But trouble arrives when an intriguing stranger Jerry moves in next door.

After witnessing some very unusual activity, Charlie comes to an unmistakable conclusion: Jerry is a vampire preying his neighbourhood.

Both games begin at 2.30pm.

Take the kids to the movies: The Smurfs

When the evil wizard Gargamel chases the tiny blue Smurfs out of their village, they tumble from their magical world and into ours — in fact, smack dab in the middle of New York’s Central Park.

The Smurfs must find a way to get back to their village before Gargamel tracks them down.

The Smurfs opens at Grand Cinemas in Bunbury this Thursday.
