Withers man stabbed
A man needed surgery for a knife wound to the neck after a fight on Sunday evening.
Police believe the Withers man, 25, was one of about five people involved in a fight at a Withers house about 5.30pm.
The victim had already been rushed to hospital with a knife wound to the neck and the left side of his torso near his armpit when the police arrived.
South West Det. Sen. Const. Peter Timms said it was believed the victim one of about three people who went to the house where the fight occurred.
“It is believed a knife and a baseball bat were involved in the fight,” he said.
“These are items that have legitimate uses and aren’t considered weapons until they are used as one.”
No charges have been laid in relation to the incident but detectives are continuing their investigation.
