A South West man has pleaded guilty to using a catapult to throw rocks at a house after he claimed his medication was stolen.

Stephen Bradley Nani, 41, was sentenced at Bunbury Magistrates Court on October 26 for one charge each of possessing a prohibited weapon and criminal damage.

The prosecution told the court that on October 3, Mr Nani approached a house in Dalyellup and demanded the return of his medication before firing projectiles with a catapult into the house.

Prosecutors said before he left the house he kicked the front door and elbowed the window, breaking both the door handle and window in the process.

It is understood the dispute was over dexamphetamine medication.

Nani told the court he did not want to go to police over the incident.

“They were my medication and she had stolen them from me,” he said.

“I was telling myself to stop and turn around.”

Magistrate Janelle Scutt described the circumstances of the incident as aggravated.

“You went to the front door with a catapult and hit it with rocks,” she said.

“A catapult in my view is a pretty nasty weapon.”

Nani was fined $1300 and ordered to pay $141.50 in costs.
