Magpie stalwart Sam Shepherd celebrated his 200th game with a landslide 23.14 (152) to 7.3 (45) win over Augusta-Margaret River in the Busselton Toyota Cup at Sir Stewart Bovell Park on Saturday night.

Mobile forward Dave Whitehead was potent, booting five goals for Busselton while teammate Joe Budiselik was rock solid in defence.

On Sunday, Carey Park’s Arron Hill had a 250th game to remember, kicking 11 goals in his team’s 119-point win over the Harvey Bulls.

Hill’s performance was the highlight of the Panther’s 24.18 (152) to 5.3 (33) win.

Carey Park kicked the first five goals and 10 of the first 11 to put the game beyond doubt well before half-time.

Bunbury maintained its perfect record with an 11.11 (77) to 9.6 (60) victory over the Collie Eagles at Payne Park.

The Bulldogs jumped out to a 4.5 (29) to 0.0 (0) lead at quarter-time but the Eagles fought back to prevent what looked likely to be a blowout in the opening stages.

Marc Re and Jordan Adamson-Holmes combined for seven goals while Eagles full forward Tony Mirabella kicked five of his own.

The inclusion of former West Coast Eagle Andrew Embley and WAFL veteran Kris Miller was not enough to help the Dons snatch an unlikely victory from the Eaton Boomers in the Peter Butcher Memorial Cup.

Miller left the ground in the opening minute with a hamstring injury and did not return while Embley kicked two ultimately meaningless goals in Eaton’s 15.20 (110) to 10.5 (65) victory.

Christopher Atthowe was judged best on ground but the Boomers were also well served by Michael Battaglia and Jace Cormack, who booted six majors.

South Bunbury returned to the winner’s circle with a crushing 15.17 (107) to 6.3 (39) win over Harvey-Brunswick-Leschenault at Hands Oval.

Guy Piggott led the Tigers’ goal scorers with four while Fraser Millar was influential all over the ground.
