Emergency services try to free truckie trapped by live electrical cables after crashing into pole in Kingsley

Emergency services are responding to an incident in Perth’s northern suburbs where a truck is believed to have crashed into a power pole.

The crash happened when the truck tipped onto its side and struck the pole, causing it to fall over, on Goollelal Drive in Kingsley about 7.40am on Monday.

The driver was trapped in the truck while emergency services made it safe to get to him amid the live electrical cables.

Police, St John WA, the Department of Fire and Emergency Services and Western Power were called to the scene.

The driver, a man in his 40s, was taken to Joondalup Health Campus. It is understood that he was not seriously hurt.
