BUNBURY HERALDBunbury Herald

Avid readers have the chance to secure a bargain when Bunbury library holds a book sale from Thursday.

The library will be clearing a huge collection of books to make way for fresh stock and titles will be available from $1.

Library manager Sharon Chapman expected the sale to be popular and encouraged people to visit the three-day event.

"It is a great opportunity to help support the library, with all proceeds going back to the library service," Ms Chapman said.

"It also helps to freshen the library's collection. If you enjoy reading, I am sure you will find something you enjoy and it's a good chance to get bargains while supporting the library at the same time."

Last year's sale had an estimated 2500-3000 books find new homes and the library's activity room is expected to be equally as busy this year.

Books will be available across a broad range of fiction and non-fiction genres and aimed at all ages.

Ms Chapman said the sale was an ideal way to replace the library's collection while also raising money for new books.

"Library stock needs to be reviewed regularly to ensure we have room for new books and also that the collection is in line with community interests," she said.

The sale will run from 9am-6pm Thursday, 9am-4pm Friday, and 9am-12pm Saturday at the Parkfield Street library.
