A generous donation from Rando & Associates will help the Cancer Council run exercise programs in Bunbury.

After guest speaker Jason van de Velde - famous for his role as Trevor Marmalade on The AFL Footy Show - declined a $1500 fee as part of the organisation's 10-year celebrations, Rando & Associates decided to donate the money.

Practice manager Laura Relph said they wanted to pay him for his services but were happy to donate the money to the Cancer Council.

"We picked the Cancer Council because we had seen clients go through Dot's Place and we wanted to give back to the community," she said.

"We held a Women's Health and Wellness Day last year with the Cancer Council and we will be doing it again in October, with the money once again going to Dot's Place."

Cancer Council South West regional education officer Dianne Pope said she was very grateful of the support.

"The money will go towards the Cancer Council's Life Now exercise program, which has positive physical, mental and social benefits for people living or recovering from cancer," she said.

"We don't often get donations of this calibre and while we are appreciative of all donations, this is pretty special."

Mr Andrew said the program aimed to combat the side effects associated with cancer such as fatigue and weight gain.

"I've received great feedback about the program because people see improvements through loss of weight and the quality of life as well as positive changes in their mood," he said.
