Reynolds tracking well after champs
BUNBURY Olympian Lauren Reynolds finished 17th at this year's UCI BMX World Championships in Belgium at the weekend, with fellow Australian Caroline Buchanan coming second to win a silver medal.
Reynolds went into the championships in good form, having won the Australian domestic series and the Oceania Championships in her return from a career-threatening injury.
The 24-year-old is tracking well and hopes to compete in next year's Olympics in Rio de Janeiro.
Reynolds finished 16th last year in her comeback from a knee reconstruction and competed in similar fashion this time around to end one spot below her previous performance.
Olympic silver medallist and defending world champion Sam Willoughby could not back up his performance from last year, finishing seventh with Netherlands teenager Niek Kimmann winning gold.
