Busselton secured its third consecutive South West Football League win on Saturday with a 67-point victory against Bunbury at Sir Stewart Bovell Park.

The Magpies proved too strong for the Bulldogs in all facets of the game, outscoring the visitors 17.19 (121) to 8.6 (54).

A youthful Bunbury team was unable to subdue Busselton's dominant forward line, with Bailey Sanford (four goals), Brent Hall (two) and Brent Snook (two) all lively.

Busselton wasted valuable opportunities early in the first term, kicking five straight behinds before youngster Sanford snared the side's first and got them going.

Bunbury's Harry Creasey and Tyler Bennell kicked truly for the Bulldogs to keep the visitors in the game heading into the first break.

But a momentary lapse in concentration by Bunbury allowed Busselton to boot three late majors to be 23 points up at quarter time.

With all the attacking momentum going Bunbury's way, Busselton captain Dan McGinlay stood up when his team needed him most and kicked two important goals for the home side to stop Bunbury's run.

McGinlay's ability to rebound the football forward from Busselton's defensive 50 metres proved instrumental.

Former South Australian National Football League player Chris Kane opened the second half for Busselton with a booming running goal to increase the Magpies' margin.

Busselton kept Bunbury goalless in the third quarter, restricting the Bulldogs' entry into the forward 50 metres with applied full-ground defensive pressure.

Valiant efforts from Bunbury's Mitchell Houwen, Kane Bumann and Glenn Howison were not enough to stop Busselton.

The Magpies had plenty of options up forward, with Sanford, Hall, Snook and Steve Cameron all helping their team to a 51-point lead at three-quarter time.

An all-round four-quarter display from Busselton was pivotal, with the Magpies' capability to run in numbers and attack through the centre corridor.
