1. Bunbury Show
Fun and festivity will arrive at Hay Park on Saturday for the 2015 Bunbury Show. Running from 8.30am to 10pm, the day will include plenty of entertainment, music, activities, stalls and a night concert and fireworks show. Entry to the show is free and more details are available at www.bunburyshow.com.au .
2. Pre-season football
The first piece of football silverware for 2015 will be played for on Sunday afternoon. The SWFL pre-season grand final will be played at Hands Oval at 4pm with a colts invitational match beforehand. These shortened matches will be the last chance to see teams in action before the home-and-away season begins.
3. Holiday activities
Parks Centre will have a princesses and pirates theme this week with sessions including mask and face painting taking place between 10am and 1pm every day. Australind Shopping Centre will have a balloon twister entertaining children between 11am and 2pm on Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
4. Buddy Holly concert
Take a walk down memory lane with Buddy Holly in Concert, a tribute to the musical sensation starring internationally renowned Scot Robin. Buddy Holly in Concert will be at Bunbury Regional Entertainment Centre on Friday night. Book through www.bunburyentertainment.com or call 1300 661 272.
5. Comedy for a cure
The Leukaemia Foundation's Comedy for Cure and Care is proud to present Peter Rowsthorn and the hilarious Denise Scott in a stand-up comedy show at Bunbury Regional Entertainment Centre on Saturday night. 6. Remembering them
Bunbury's involvement in World War I will be showcased in a new art exhibition at Bunbury Regional Art Galleries. The exhibition is in partnership with Bunbury Museum and Heritage Centre, the Australian War Memorial and the WA Museum. A special opening night will be held from 5pm on Friday before the exhibition's general opening on Saturday.
7. Mexican sundowner
A Mexican-themed sundowner will be held at Unwind on Symmons bar this Sunday. Anyone who buys a meal will receive a second meal half-price. Phone 9726 5777 for more information.
8. The Rumjacks
Sydney folk punk band The Rumjacks will showcase their new single when they play at the Prince of Wales Hotel on Saturday night. Their first single, Blows and Unkind Words, attracted 40,000 YouTube views in its first month online.
9. The Longest Ride
The film adaptation of The Longest Ride, the latest Nicholas Sparks book to hit the big screen, will begin at Grand Cinemas Bunbury tonight. The film tells of two intertwining love stories, with a strange occurrence uniting two generations. The film is rated M.
10. Lighthouse open mic
Performers are invited to attend Friday's open mic night at the Lighthouse Beach Resort's Cellars Bar. Doors open at 7.45pm with the main event starting from 8pm. Various genres including music, poetry and comedy will all be showcased and performers and spectators are all invited.
