Have you registered for SWAS's fun run yet? There's still time. Here's our Top 10 for this week.

1. SWAS relay

Registrations are still open for Sunday's South West Academy of Sport - Telstra Fun Run. People can register a team of four to compete in a 10km run or 5km walk around Bunbury's Leschenault Inlet and there is also an opportunity for walkers to complete the circuit individually. Participants can expect giveaways and a presentation of prizes, with food and drinks available to purchase onsite. Organised to raise money for the South West Academy of Sport, proceeds will go towards supporting the not-for-profit organisation's programs in the region. Sign up for the run at www.swaswa.com.au .

2. Eisteddfod begins

Bunbury Regional Entertainment Centre will be a hive of activity throughout June as the 57th season of the WA Performing Arts Eisteddfod is held. The Eisteddfod opened last Thursday and runs until June 20 before officially wrapping up with the gala concert on June 27. Thousands of performances will take place and last year's Eisteddfod had pieces for about 12 hours a day and six days per week. 3. Big round of footy

Busselton hosts Bunbury to start round eight of the South West Football League season at 4.40pm on Saturday. The other four matches will be played at 2.30pm on Sunday. Harvey-Brunswick-Leschenault travels to Collie, Eaton and Carey Park clash; South Bunbury hosts Donnybrook while Harvey Bulls will meet Augusta-Margaret River.

4. Jurassic World

The latest instalment in the famous Jurassic Park series opens at Grand Cinemas on Thursday. Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard have the lead roles in the Jurassic World, the series' fourth film. In the film, a team of scientists have created a new type of genetically modified dinosaur which will feature in dinosaur theme park Jurassic World. Doubts begins to fill the workers about whether this was a good idea and trouble soon ensues.

5. Lurch and Chief

Alternative indie rockers Lurch and Chief will play at the Prince of Wales Hotel on Thursday night. It will be the Melbourne-based six-piece's first show ever in Western Australia, who will then play another three gigs in the State to wrap up their tour. Supporting their latest EP Breathe, they will perform tunes including single Keep It Together, which has received plenty of Triple J airtime.

6. Night stalk

South West Catchments Council is organising an event which will allow participants to see native animals at night time. This is a chance to explore a 900ha area and see animals such a Western ringtail possums and quendas. Three night stalks will be held throughout June with the first coinciding with World Environment Day tomorrow. 7. Touch of culture

New Zealand culture will be celebrated at a unique event on Bunbury Primary School's oval. Bunbury's Biggest Hangi will showcase the traditional Maori cooking technique and the day will also include jumping castles and games for children plus a tyre flipping challenge to showcase the strength of the adults. 8. Phoenix home game

Following on from a busy weekend featuring a home league match and away cup match, South West Phoenix are again at Payne Park. The region's representative soccer side will take on Dianella White Eagles in a State League division one soccer match. Kick-off for Saturday's match is at 3pm.

9. Open mic night

Friday night is open mic night at Lighthouse Beach Resort's Cellars Bar. Doors open at 7.45pm for an 8pm start. Entry is $10 for adults and $5 for under-18s, who must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. A diverse range of performances including music, poetry, comedy and dance could all be featured in an entertaining night. For further information, phone 9795 4328.

10. Voyager tour docks

Perth-based progressive metal act Voyager will be in Bunbury for the last show of their national tour. Saturday's show at the Prince of Wales Hotel is the only non-capital city venue they are playing. The band has launched a video for their song Seasons of Age, which is from their most recent album V. Supporting them will be French alternative act Klone.
