Football is still on our list, with the SWFL Grand Final this weekend.

1. Footy grand final

All eyes will be on Hands Oval for Sunday's South West Football League grand final. The big match starts at 2.30pm and both Carey Park and Busselton will be seeking to write their names in the history books by claiming the league premiership. Carey Park will meet Eaton Boomers in the reserves grand final, while Harvey-Brunswick-Leschenault and Augusta-Margaret River will clash in the colts decider.

2. Blinky Bill

An iconic Australian character will be on the big screen at Grand Cinemas Bunbury from Thursday. Blinky Bill's adventures start with his dreams of leaving the small town of Green Patch and following in his missing father's footsteps. The famous koala heads on a journey through the Australian Outback, where he makes plenty of friends along the way. The film includes Toni Collette, David Wenham, Barry Humphries and Deborah Mailman in the voice cast.

3. Elite motocross

Bunbury will host the Australian Junior Motocross Championships from Sunday. Riders will converge on the Shrubland Park track near Bunbury Airport for a week of competition, with free entry for spectators. Food will also be available to purchase and full details are available at www.ajmxbunbury2015.com.au .

4. Bands battle

Friday night is the first heat of the Highway Hotel's band competition. Bands will compete over five heats, semi-finals, and a grand final to be crowned champion and claim the ultimate prize of recording time and $5000 cash. There will be five bands per heat and each will perform a 30-minute set. A round of the competition will feature every Friday until the November 13 grand final.

5. Comedy night

Vulture Culture Comedy returns to the Prince of Wales Hotel tomorrow night. American comic Eddie Ifft, - who has performed in more than 15 countries and released two DVDs including one filmed at a sold-out Sydney Opera House - will headline the event. He also boasts a stack of television appearances to his name and will be supported by Garry Who - known for his role as Doug Stevens in Australian sitcom All Together Now - as master of ceremonies. The event begins at 8.30pm and tickets can be bought in advance or on the night.

6. Art and politics

Contemporary social issues and the natural world combine in an exhibition being showcased at Bunbury Regional Art Galleries. South West artist Stephen Schulyta's solo exhibition Politics to the Natural World is a series of paintings that show human intervention set with backdrops of Australian landscapes. As the son of parents who survived dictatorships, his background is influential in inspiring his work. The exhibition provides a fascinating take on the world and runs until October 11

7. Born Lion

Sydney punk-rockers Born Lion are heading to Bunbury on Thursday night as part of a national tour. In 2013, the four-piece was named Triple J Unearthed feature artist and brings a high-energy rock show with rock riffs and distinctly Australian sound. The most recent single Good Dogs Play Dead has been played on Channel V.

8. Musical comedy

Bunbury Musical Comedy Group's latest production is in the final week. The group will perform a family show My Son Pinocchio - Geppetto's Musical Tale at Bunbury's New Lyric Theatre on Bourke Street. Shows will take place at 7pm on Friday and Saturday and at 2pm on Sunday and the Queen's Birthday Monday. Tickets can be bought from Bunbury Regional Entertainment Centre or at the theatre from one hour before shows.

9. Market day

Head to Boyanup on Sunday morning for the monthly farmers' market. This regular event gives buyers the chance to interact with producers and purchase items directly from them. A range of fresh food including meat, fruit and vegetables, preserves, cakes, and breads will be available. Entry is free from 8am-12pm at Boyanup Memorial Park.
