WA weather: More rain and ‘severe’ storms on the way for South West, Perth set for some showers
A huge rain band and severe thunderstorms will smash parts of WA, while a cold front threatens Perth.
Bureau of Meteorology forecaster Sarah Scully said a cold front has impacted WA over the past few days but now looks “on the move”.
“It’s finally becoming mobile,” she said.
“The front will begin to sweep across southern parts of WA and will actually push heat into eastern parts of Australia.”
“Now for WA, we’ve got that rain band bringing with it widespread showers east of the trough line (near Kalgoorlie),” she said.
“These storms may be severe with heavy rainfall or damaging winds.”
Showers and storms are also forecast for Perth and the South West associated with the cold front that is beginning to move east.
“For Perth, a shower later in the day with a top of 24C.”
