Weekend of action, fun by Koombana Bay

BUNBURY HERALDBunbury Herald

The Dolphin Discovery Centre will celebrate Bunbury's close connection with the bottlenose dolphin population this weekend at the annual Dolphin City Festival.

The massive two-day event will boast many family-friendly activities as well as entertainment for everyone to enjoy.

Starting at 9.00am on Saturday, the Dolphin City Festival will include face painting, a bouncy castle, fishing clinics and sandcastle creations.

There will also be an opportunity for attendees to meet native animals which have been rescued from around the region.

Every hour, members from the Scitech Discovery Centre will run a free exhibition, entertaining everyone with their fascinating scientific experiments.

The Dolphin Discovery Centre will also be running eco cruises to give people a closer look at the bottlenose dolphins in their native environment for only $25 per person.

Saturday's daily activities will conclude at 3pm, before starting again at 5pm for a night of live entertainment. The entertainment - Blues, Brews and Barbecue - will showcase live music from the South West Blues Club.

At $5 entry per person, the Blues, Brews and Barbecue will also be the perfect opportunity to watch the sunset over Koombana Bay.

In addition to a barbecue, there will be a fully licensed bar - no BYO.

Sunday's Dolphin City Festival activities will begin at 9am.

The Dolphin Discovery Centre invites everyone to dress up as their favourite sea creature in an attempt to break a world record for "most people dressed up as a marine animal in one place". There will be a free sausage sizzle for everyone who dresses up.

Bring a marine animal toy and take-part in the Dolphin Discovery Centre's Sea Creature Picnic.

Sunday will also boast many family-friendly activities as well as an art exhibition made solely out of recycled plastic containers.
