Prime Minister Anthony Albanese roasted for sharing Spotify Wrapped top songs list

Prime Minister Anthony Albanese might need to find a “calm music” playlist to listen to after being roasted for the music featured in his 2024 Spotify Wrapped.

The annual “music wrap” lists Spotify users’ most streamed songs, artists, albums, podcasts and more.

For Mr Albanese, his 2024 appears to be a year of Australian music, sharing a graphic of his “top songs” on X.

Taking out the top spot on the PMs playlist was Aussie singer and drummer G-Flip with their song Australia.

Following that, in order, was Letting Go by Angie McMahon, Still Have Room by Hockey Dad, Pedestal by Lime Cordiale and Get Me Out by King Stingray.

“What’s on your Spotify Wrapped?” the PM asked on X.

Although an outspoken lover of Australian music, the Prime Minister’s list appeared not to hit the high-notes with Aussie voters.

“160,000 homeless across Australia because of your governments incompetence and this is your post? Get out just get out,” one user wrote on X.

“Most Australians can’t afford Spotify because of the cost of living crisis you continue to ignore,” another wrote.

“No one cares. Do your job,” another demanded.

One user appeared to question the legitimacy of Mr Albanese’s Spotify Wrapped list, which did not feature a total time spent listening, writing: “I thought Taylor Swift would be number 1 @AlboMP.”

Adding: “After all, you said yourself on the radio that you are a Swifty.”

Although Swift did not make Mr Albanese’s “top songs” list, the US pop megastar was the most streamed artist in Australia and across the globe.
