Josh Giddey has racked up his first triple-double since joining the Chicago Bulls, while fellow Australian young gun Dyson Daniels again impressed for Atlanta.

Giddey amassed 20 points, 13 rebounds and 11 assists as he steered the Bulls to a comprehensive 128-102 home win over the Brooklyn Nets on Monday night.

It was the 12th triple-double of the 22-year-old's NBA career and first since his offseason move from Oklahoma City.

The Bulls improved to 9-13, with Nikola Vucevic adding 21 points and 10 rebounds, Matas Buzelis scoring 20 points on 7-for-10 shooting and Zach LaVine finishing with 18.

The Bulls shot at 52.2 per cent (48 for 92) from the field. They have shot at least 50 per cent in their last six games, the longest such streak in the NBA this season.

With Australian Ben Simmons (lower back and left knee) and forward Cam Johnson among several players out injured, the Nets (9-13) lost a third consecutive game, all in the last four days.

The Game Cricket 2024-25

In Atlanta, 21-year-old breakout star Daniels continued his stellar first season with the Hawks, scoring 19 points and adding four steals, two assists and five rebounds in a 124-112 win over the New Orleans Pelicans, the team who traded him.

Daniels is already being spoken of as a potential defensive player of the year, with his uncanny ability to deflect and steal possession and also to lock down major offensive threats.

The Hawks improved their season record to 11-11 while the Pelicans are a dismal 4-18. The Pelicans have lost nine straight games and dropped 15 of their past 16.

It was the second time Daniels has starred against his former team. He also scored 16 points in a 126-114 win on November 4.

Trae Young had 12 points and 15 assists for the Hawks in Monday night's game for his 15th double-double of the season.

Star Dejounte Murray was greeted by cheers in his first return to Atlanta since being traded to the Pelicans in the deal which sent Daniels the other way. He finished with seven points and 10 assists.
