Perth Wildcats owner Mark Arena makes massive change to NBL finals ticket prices or Melbourne United clash

Perth Wildcats owner Mark Arena has slashed ticket prices for next week’s semifinal against Melbourne United with fans able to buy seats for less money than it costs to attend during the regular season. The Wildcats were forced to move their Play-In game against South East Melbourne from RAC Arena to Perth High Performance Centre and less than 3000 people went to that match. Perth’s owner has prioritised filling RAC Arena over profits. “The Red Army is like a sixth man to us and we want to see RAC Arena packed on Saturday, March 1st as we host arch-rivals Melbourne United in a crucial playoff clash,” Arena said. “We want our fans to take advantage of the reduced ticket prices as we make our long-awaited return to RAC Arena for the first time in nearly a month. The atmosphere at RAC Arena is like no other in the NBL and we’re excited to welcome our fans back as we make things as hostile as possible for Melbourne United. “We’ve got an excellent home record of 10-5 in NBL25 and our fans are a big reason behind that.” The Wildcats have to play in Melbourne before they get the chance to step back onto their home floor, with the first game of the best-of-three series to be played at John Cain Arena next Thursday. Melbourne won all three games against the Wildcats during the regular season but the Wildcats didn’t have their full squad available for any of those games. Tai Webster and Dylan Windler missed two of those three clashes while Byyce Cotton and Jesse Wagstaff were unavailable for the other. Webster, who is now back to full fitness after a frustrating season of soft tissue injuries, said Thursday’s game was the ideal chance for his team to attack United knowing victory would put them in a position to close out the series at home in front of their passionate fans. “It’s absolutely a free swing. We’ve got nothing to lose going over there. We’ve just got to leave it all out there, play our hardest, re-group and re-calibrate for the second game,” Webster said. “It’s completely different to the regular season. Obviously we haven’t had the best record against Melbourne during the regulars season. They’ve got that hand on us, but that means nothing now. It’s the first one to win two games and that’s all that matters. You’ve just got to show up on the day now.”
