Match-winner Tyler Herro was one of seven people ejected, six for their roles in a fight, in a wild final minute of the Miami Heat's 104-100 NBA victory over the Houston Rockets.

Herro had game highs of 27 points and nine assists before he was thrown to the ground by the Rockets' Amen Thompson with 35 seconds left and the Heat leading 99-94.

Players and coaches from both benches spilled onto the court in the ensuing melee.

Both Thompson and Herro were thrown out along with Rockets guard Jalen Green, coach Ime Udoka and assistant coach Ben Sullivan. Terry Rozier was also ejected for Miami.

Herro's jumper with 1:56 to play had put the Heat on top for good. Heat teammate Fred VanVleet was also ejected 12 second before the fight after appearing to make contact with referee Marc Davis, upset after being called for a 5-second violation.

Davis described the Thompson-Herro confrontation as Thompson "body slams Herro."

The altercation occurred after Miami had come from 12 points down in the second half to regain the lead with the help of Houston missing 11 straight shots in the fourth quarter, as Herro led the Heat effort.

Herro believed that's what frustrated Thompson, with no previous bad blood between them.

"Guess that's what's happens when someone's scoring, throwing dimes, doing the whole thing," Herro said. "I'd get mad, too."

Nikola Jovic tacked on two free throws after the chaos to help Miami close out the win. He finished with 18 points, seven rebounds and six assists off the bench.

In Oklahoma City, the Thunder continued to show the way in the western conference with a 130-106 home win over the short-handed Memphis Grizzlies.

Shai Gilgeous Alexander led with 35 points while rookie Ajay Mitchell had 17 as the Thunder (26-5) notched an 11th straight win.

In Orlando, Australian Ben Simmons' Brooklyn Nets gave up a big lead as they were edged 102-101 by the Magic (20-14).

Cole Anthony drove for a layup with 0.2 seconds left to complete Orlando's 17-point fourth-quarter comeback.

Simmons had six points, seven rebounds and seven assists for the Nets (12-20).

Fellow Australian star Dyson Daniels missed a second straight game with illness as his Atlanta Hawks thumped the slumping Raptors 136-107 in Toronto.

Trae Young had 34 points and 10 assists while De'Andre Hunter scored 22 points and Clint Capela had 11 points and 13 rebounds for the Hawks (18-15) as they handed the Raptors (7-25) a 10th straight loss.

The Indiana Pacers rebounded from a 37-point loss to Boston two nights earlier by beating the Celtics 123-114 in Boston - the defending champions sixth home loss already this season.

Tyrese Haliburton scored 31 points for the Pacers while Andrew Nembhard added 17 points, eight rebounds and eight assists and Pascal Siakam chipped in with 17 points.

Jaylen Brown led Boston with 31 points and six assists. Jayson Tatum had 22 points, nine boards and six assists.
