Quinton Narkle: Fremantle Dockers speedster set to make club debut in Anzac Day clash against Adelaide

Quinton Narkle will make his Fremantle debut when the Dockers take on Adelaide in their annual Len Hall Tribute Game at Optus Stadium on Friday night.

It comes as forward Bailey Banfield cops the axe again.

The West Australian confirmed on Thursday afternoon that Narkle would come into the side and is expected to be the starting sub.

Narkle, 27, joined the Dockers as a supplementary selection signing during the pre-season, having played 57 AFL games across stints at Geelong and Port Adelaide, kicking 26 goals.

The forward is coming off a string of solid games for Fremantle-aligned club Peel Thunder, including 37 disposals against East Fremantle.

Narkle will become the first player to make their Dockers debut on Anzac Day since Nat Fyfe made his first appearance as an 18-year-old on the day in 2010.

Fremantle have made three overall changes with midfielder Jaeger O’Meara coming out of the side after he sustained a hamstring and ankle injury in the loss to Melbourne.

James Aish, who was a late in for Heath Chapman against the Demons, and Bailey Banfield have been omitted for the clash with Adelaide as Chapman clears his illness.

Corey Wagner has also been named to play off half back.

Wagner missed the Gather Round win over Richmond with calf awareness but has overcome the issue in time to face the Crows and their forward threat of Taylor Walker and Riley Thilthorpe who sit inside the Coleman Medal top 10.

It will be his fourth appearance of the campaign.

Aish, Banfield and Liam Reidy have been named as emergencies.
