VideoAFL superstar Dustin Martin will play his 300th game against Hawthorn. His longtime former coach pays tribute to the Richmond legend.

Brynn Teakle will make his debut for North Melbourne on Sunday, just over two weeks after he was handed an AFL lifeline through the mid-season draft.

The former East Fremantle ruckman, who was first picked up two seasons ago by Port Adelaide, was de-listed at the end of last year and re-drafted by North Melbourne.

Alistair Clarkson announced Teakle’s debut after a sprawling story about how he landed tickets to see the Eagles play, before playing their song New Kid in Town, and telling the Kangaroos playing group their new man was in.

The 24-year-old comes into the side for a clash with Collingwood, who he trained with during the pre-season and had strong interest in him ahead of last month’s draft.

Teakle was the dominant ruckman in the WAFL when he returned to the Sharks for the first part of the season having missed out on a pre-season spot with the Magpies.

The 203cm ruckman had a whopping 247 hit-outs in just seven games in the State league this season and represented Western Australia in the State game.

The Northampton product, from the same footy factory as WA guns like Josh Kennedy and Harry Taylor, played six games across two seasons with the Power, interrupted by a serious shoulder injury.
