BHP Streamer Screamer: Win $5000 with your local sporting highlights

WA’s biggest and best community sport competition is back — and it’s even bigger and better this time around.

Streamer, Australia’s most innovative community sport streaming platform, has partnered with BHP to bring you the BHP Streamer Screamer competition, where your local highlights can win you $5000.

Whether it’s scoring a miracle goal, taking a spectacular mark, a three from way downtown, or just a hilarious blooper, if you’ve got vision of your sporting exploits, you will be a chance to win big.

Starting Monday, you can send in your clips or a URL from Instagram, TikTok, YouTube or Vimeo at streamer.com.au/screamer to go into the running for one of twelve weekly prizes of a $100 Jim Kidd Sports voucher.

Three weekly winners will be announced by West Coast legend Josh Kennedy on 7NEWS Perth each Wednesday from August 9 and go on to the final round.

Once all 12 finalists are unveiled, the public will vote on who takes home the $5000 major prize.

In an exciting addition, this year’s winner of the BHP Streamer Screamer will also win an additional $1000 for their nominated local club.

Kennedy, who recently returned to his own junior club the Northampton Rams, said he was excited to help showcase the best that local sport had to offer.

“We saw some unreal entries in this competition last year, but I’m expecting things to go up another level this time around,” he said.

“I’ve moved back to Geraldton this year and I’ve seen firsthand the role local clubs and local sport play in the community so to be involved in the BHP Streamer Screamer and really celebrate and reward that is something I’m pretty passionate about.

“Now let’s see the trick shots and the hangers and the clutch buckets start rolling in.”

Last year’s prize was taken home by rising hockey star Brodee Foster for a remarkable, length-of-the-field, one-handed goal from an impossible angle.

Entries are now open, with the final cut-off at 5pm on Tuesday, August 29. The winner will be announced following the conclusion of voting on September 5.
