The first ship in cruise line Silversea’s innovative Nova-class, Silver Nova, has arrived in Australia for the first time.

The ship will sail the summer season here.

+ Having arrived on the continent in Darwin, Silver Nova sailed across the top of Australia to Port Douglas and Cairns, and sails on to Brisbane, Melbourne and Adelaide.

+ From Adelaide, Silver Nova sails back to Sydney, Tasmania and New Zealand.

Carrying up to 728 passengers, Silver Nova (with sister ship Silver Ray) is the biggest ship in Silversea’s fleet.

The ship’s asymmetrical design challenges the aesthetics of conventional luxury cruise vessels.

But a Silversea insider says: “By breaking from traditional symmetrical layouts, the ship offers expansive, open views that enhance the connection between guests and the surrounding seascapes.

“This innovative approach allows for a uniquely spacious pool deck, unobstructed sightlines, and a seamless flow between indoor and outdoor spaces, bringing the beauty of the ocean into every corner of the ship.”

The arrival of Silver Nova also introduces Silversea’s culinary programme, S.A.L.T. (Sea and Land Taste), to Australia. It focuses on cuisines and ingredients that reflect a destination’s heritage. In Darwin, S.A.L.T. Kitchen’s menu featured Darwin laksa, a local favourite known for its rich, spicy flavours.
