Mick Jagger’s fiancee Melanie Hamrick says they have been engaged for ‘two or three years’

Age shall not weary him, although at 81 Mick Jagger may be slightly wedding weary, after his fiancee revealed the couple have been enjoying their engagement for three years.
Sir Mick reportedly popped the question to 37-year-old Melanie Hamrick around “two of three years ago” but the pair haven’t decided on a wedding date just yet.
The ageing rocker and his choreographer fiancee are engaged but she said she is “too afraid to change anything” about their relationship.
Speaking to the French magazine Paris Match, Melanie shared: “Maybe one day we’ll marry, maybe not. We are so happy in our current life that I would be too afraid to change anything.”
Asked if they had an immediate spark when they first met in 2014, Melanie replied: “Maybe a spark, but nothing incredible, like, ‘Come on, I’ll blow your mind and we’ll travel the world’.
“We didn’t even exchange phone numbers. At the time, I wasn’t in a relationship, but he was.”
Mick and Melanie’s relationship subsequently became romantic, and the retired ballerina has admitted that she loves having Mick’s support.
Asked to reveal the key to their romance, Melanie explained: “We try to support each other, be there for each other, and make sure everyone is happy. That’s all that matters to me and all I strive for.”
Melanie has actually been wearing her sparkling engagement ring for a number of years. However, until now, she’s always remained coy about its true meaning.
Speaking to People in 2023, Melanie shared: “I mean, I have to giggle because did Mick give me the ring? Yes. Is it for that finger? Yes.”
Despite this, Melanie subsequently described the eye-catching diamond as a “promise ring” rather than engagement ring.
She said at the time: “Are we like, horny teenagers where we’re giving each other … In my mind, it’s a promise ring. We’ll be immature and call it a promise ring.”
Melanie was also coy about whether she had any ambitions to get married one day.
The ‘First Position’ novelist described herself at the time as a “live-in-the-moment” character.
Melanie - who welcomed their son, Deveraux, in 2016 - said: “I don’t know. I’m kind of like, a live-in-the-moment type of person, so who knows.”
