Bunbury man Trevor Andrew Foster pleads guilty to incessant VRO breaches, threatening to harm ex-partner

A Bunbury man has admitted to making threats to stab his ex-partner, have others “flog her” and visiting her home multiple times, less than a week after he was served a restraining order. Trevor Andrew Foster appeared in Bunbury Magistrate’s Court via videolink from Bunbury Regional Prison on Thursday where he pleaded guilty to eight counts of breaching a family violence restraining order, making a threat to unlawfully do an act, and pursuing another to intimidate. The court was told Foster was served a family violence restraining order protecting his former partner of three years on February 14. However, Foster breached the order less than a week later by attending the victim’s home address at first to disclose a sexually-transmitted disease he might have contracted and later visited again and played with their daughter. The next day, Foster sent the victim 138 text messages over several hours, demanding the restraining order be dropped and threatening to stab her, have other people “bash” her and making several threats to kill her. He later attended the victim’s home again where he yelled abuse at the victim from outside and said “I’m going to kill myself if I don’t see my daughter”. The court was also told of another incident where he approached the victim and their daughter while they were walking their dog along Ocean Drive, later driving his car through a carpark yelling “you’re a f...ing b....” when the victim told him to leave her alone. That night, the victim left flowers at the victim’s home with a note which read “Please drop order. If I have to do time for that, watch out.” The incessant contact continued for a third day when Foster attempted to make a number of phone calls to the victim while she was at work. That evening, the victim returned home and saw Foster standing near her home when she looked out a window and called police. Foster was located at a nearby park and arrested. After hearing the details of Foster’s offending, Magistrate Joanne Andretich said it was appropriate that a pre-sentence report be prepared for the court before handing down any sentence, despite already having some character reference material. The sentencing was adjourned to April 14, with Foster remanded in custody.
