Shire of Dardanup asks for feedback on planned changes to Eaton Drive around Hamilton Road roundabout

The Shire of Dardanup is calling on the community to provide feedback on plans to alter Eaton Drive around the Hamilton Road roundabout. Public consultation is presently under way on the proposed changes, which are designed to improve traffic flow and safety on one of the suburb’s main roads. A number of alterations have been planned, including the installation of traffic lights on Glenhuon Boulevard, the replacement of the Hands Avenue intersection with a new one on neighbouring Cudliss Street and the transformation of Watson Street into a cul-de-sac. The changes have also been proposed to partially open up the Ann Street cul-de-sac to allow residents to turn eastbound onto Hamiliton Road. The consultation follows a council decision in February to progress with the planned alterations. Shire president Tyrrell Gardiner noted the importance of community input in shaping the traffic improvements. “The Shire of Dardanup has undertaken extensive studies and consultations since 2020 to identify the most effective solutions for Eaton Drive,” he said. “We have liaised extensively with Main Roads WA to ensure proposed changes meet State Government requirements and are the best possible outcome for our community. “These proposals are the result of thorough traffic modelling, feasibility studies, and engagement with stakeholders.” Consultation closes on July 4.
