Nomans Lake fire: Bushfire in the Shire of Narrogin contained and controlled
Firefighters have contained an out-of-control bushfire that was heading towards Narrogin with water bombers flying in to help volunteer brigades on the ground.
The bushfire at a nature reserve about 35km southeast of Narrogin was moving in a north-northwesterly direction towards the town as the temperature reached 34 degrees on Friday.
The Department of Fire and Emergency Services issued an advice alert at 12.35pm for the blaze, which was reported near Nomans Lake in the Shire of Narrogin at 9.36am.
By 3.27pm, volunteer brigades and farmer units from Narrogin, Wickepin and Wagin had brought the blaze under control with the help of two water bombers and were patrolling the area and mopping up.
An advice alert remains in place for the area bound by Lakes Road, Robinson Road, Quicks Road, Halls Road and Bennier Road in parts of Nomans Lake and Cancanning in the Shires of Narrogin and Wagin.
