Bunbury's friendliest band of male singers is excited to host the first National Male Voice Festival to be held in the city.

The Men of Song will sing nine new pieces to celebrate the event in Bunbury from October 1-4.

Four months out from the event, the Men of Song already has 150 registrations and expects to welcome about 300 singers to Western Australia.

Member Greg Ross promised there would be songs for all ages and said the event would promote the benefits of group singing.

"Some of the festivals we have been to over east, they have had four generations of men and boys singing together," he said.

"It is quite something to see that happening."

Another member, Nathan Barrie, said he had performed in last year's Pemulwuy National Male Voice Festival in Brisbane.

"It was great - there were 500 men and boys on stage to sing a final song," he said.

The event will be held between Bunbury Cathedral Grammar School, Bunbury Regional Entertainment Centre and Pat Usher Foreshore.
