There's a host of entertainment going on in Bunbury this week, and we have picked our Top 10. What's on your list?

1. Midsummer

Black Swan State Theatre Company’s Midsummer (a play with songs) received standing ovations during its Perth run at the State Theatre Centre last year. Now this hilarious play heads to Bunbury Regional Entertainment Centre for one night on Saturday. Two strangers meet in a bar. She’s totally out of his league; he’s not her type at all. 2. Cocktail Party

Get dressed to the nines and dust off your dancing shoes for a classy cocktail party at Hackersley Winery in the Ferguson Valley on Saturday from 7.30pm. A Hackersley-style cocktail dinner will be served and there will be live entertainment from Jazztrix. For ticket information and bookings call 9728 3033.

3. Chefs on Sidewalk barbecue

Every Sunday from noon to late, gold-plate award winners Mojos is holding a Meat on the Street barbecue. Food is cooked on the sidewalk and bookings are available for the popular Chef’s Table to watch French chef Co Co perform his brilliance. Food platters, Corona and Custard Cider deals are available to make this a budget way of eating on a Sunday.

4. Live music

Enjoy some free live entertainment by Graeme Hague at the Old Coast Road Brewery this Sunday. The acclaimed author from the South West will perform some of his original songs, so be sure to get to the brewery for a cold drink and listen to some fantastic music.

5. Speedway

Get down to the Quit Bunbury Speedway on South Western Highway this Saturday to see some thrilling racing. From 6pm, action features the Bunbury Paint Place Production Gold Cup Divisions which include the All Star Juniors, Top Star Juniors, Street Stocks Productions Limited Sprintcars and Wingless Sprints.

6. Catch a Movie

Saving Mr Banks is an instant classic and a must see this summer. When Walt Disney (Tom Hanks) tries to buy the rights to her novel, Mary Poppins, author P.L. Travers (Emma Thompson) is reluctant at first, because Disney is known for animated films and she doesn’t want her beloved character Mary Poppins to become a cartoon. However, she finally gives in to Mr Disney’s charms and travels from London to Hollywood to discuss the possibility.

7. Jetpack

On Thursday the Prince of Wales Hotel will host Jetpack, in what is sure to be a great gig. Jetpack is a popular rock cover band which was formed when the group members were poached from popular live acts from around Australia. The result is this incredibly tight, energetic and professional unit. Get ready for a big night out.

8. Monthly Medal

The Monthly Medal is a club event at the Bunbury Golf Club. Become a member and participate in a full day’s golfing action. Non-members are also able to join but are not eligible to take any prizes home. For more information contact Bunbury Golf Club on 9725 1231.

9. Bunbury Trotting Club

Saturday is a day for racing, so get to the Bunbury Trotting Club for high speed horse action. With some of the best pacing the South West has to offer be sure to make your way to the club for a drink, a nibbly and a punt as you are entertained at the fully licensed facilities. 10. The Virtuous Peasant

A kinetic sculptural installation by Perth-based artist Geoff Overheu who asks the question; “What is it to be a farmer in the 21st century?” Exhibited at Bunbury Regional Art Galleries, The Virtuous Peasant is consists of 12 sculptures which portray a romanticised image of a farmer. It is a sight to be seen with amazing potency so visit the galleries before the exhibition closes at the end of the month.
